Eversource is reminding Connecticut residents to call 811 before beginning any project that involves digging. The warning comes on National Safe Digging Day. Homeowners and contractors are required to contact Call Before You Dig at least two business days before excavation so underground utility lines can be marked. Hitting electric, gas, water or communication lines can cause injuries, outages, fines and costly repairs.
