Connecticut Budget Boosts Education And Child Care Funding

Connecticut lawmakers have approved major changes to the state’s two-year budget, adding nearly $190 million in education aid and another $100 million for cities and towns. The plan also includes $300 million for early child care programs and $30 million more for low-income health coverage, all while staying under the state spending cap. The measure passed with bipartisan support and now heads to the House, with officials saying the funding will strengthen schools, expand child care access, and support local communities.
