Connecticut officials are urging caution at state swimming areas as lifeguard staffing drops. Lifeguards will be on duty from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Labor Day weekend at five parks, including Squantz Pond. No state swimming areas will have lifeguards beginning Tuesday.
