A 36 year old Danbury man is behind bars after police say he stabbed a woman multiple times and admitted he planned to kill her. Jefferson Barbosa-Ribeiro was arrested following the attack in New Milford, where investigators say he stabbed the victim in the back and stomach and forced her back into a car when she tried to escape. Police say he later drove around for more than 40 minutes before deciding to take her to a hospital. Barbosa-Ribeiro is now charged with attempted murder, assault, and kidnapping, and is being held on one million dollars bond. He is due in court on May nineteenth.
