The cause of death of 38 year old Irving Alvarez-Godoy remains pending further studies following Sunday’s apartment fire on Kohanza Street in Danbury. The state medical examiner says the manner of death also remains under investigation. Firefighters reached the second-floor apartment by ladder and removed Alvarez-Godoy through a window. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A dog also died, and three firefighters suffered minor burns. The fire investigation continues.
