Several western Connecticut communities are receiving state transportation grants aimed at improving pedestrian safety and accessibility. Bethel will upgrade Main Street connections, New Milford will add sidewalks near Young’s Field, Ridgefield will extend sidewalks along Danbury Road, and Shelton will improve access to its Riverwalk. The projects are part of a $10.8 million statewide infrastructure program.
