Squantz Pond State Park in New Fairfield was closed to new visitors Saturday after its parking lot filled to capacity. Millers Pond State Park in Durham and the Highland Lake state boat launch in Winchester were also closed for the same reason. State environmental officials say Gillette Castle State Park remained open, but castle tour tickets were sold out.
