The State Bond Commission has approved $1.9 billion for construction and improvement projects across Connecticut. The package includes $600 million for schools and $446 million for transportation, including road, bridge and highway service plaza work. More than $100 million will support affordable housing programs, while $25 million will help replace crumbling foundations. Funding was also approved for state colleges, prisons, parks and more than 35 local projects.
