Connecticut is intervening in the federal review of a proposed 67 billion dollar merger between NextEra Energy and Dominion Energy. State officials say the deal could reduce competition and increase energy costs by putting both of New England’s nuclear power plants under one company. The merger is also being reviewed by federal regulators and the Justice Department.
