A deadly crash in Newtown is under investigation after a motorcycle collided with a box truck Monday evening. Police say the crash happened just before 6pm on Hawleyville Road near North Ridge Drive. Emergency crews, including Newtown Police, Hawleyville Fire, and Newtown Volunteer Ambulance, responded, but the motorcycle operator was pronounced dead at the scene. Hawleyville Road remained shut down for several hours as investigators worked the crash. The case is now in the hands of the department’s detective bureau and accident reconstruction team.
